Panasonic AW-UE150K UHD 4K 20x PTZ Camera

Rent Panasonic PTZ

Renting the Panasonic AW-UE150K PTZ camera kit from Absolute Rentals has so many advantages over a traditional individually operated camera setup. The first and most important part of a Panasonic PTZ camera itself, with so many options for this UHD 4K 60p  in the 4K connections department.  This camera offers 12G-SDI, HDMI, optical fiber, and IP streaming.  The 1″ type MOS sensor is impressive enough, not to mention the 20x optical zoom with a wide 75.1° angle-of-view and PoE++ compatibility (Power Over Internet).  V-Log output, a UHD crop function in 720p, a preset on/off iris function are only some of the options when using this game-changing camera.

We will introduce many other unique Panasonic PTZ camera functions below, but for now, we will continue our discussion with workflow opinions.

PTZ Cameras for Concerts: well, there are still many reasons you would still want traditional hand-operated cameras for a concert or live event, the Panasonic AW–AU150 PTZ it’s a perfect supplemental camera to add additional angles and coverage that could never be handled with traditional cameras without disturbing the audience. Examples immediately below:

We are producing a concert with Cat Stevens at what was then the Nokia. We had traditional cameras throughout our workflow; however, due to the size and camera placement of the Nokia, it was hard to get additional angles without using PTZs. The set was an old train station, so we were able to create camera hides by putting some crates in front of the talent near the stage wedges. These cameras gave us some of the best angles we had for the night, the audience never saw PTZ cameras, only set extensions.

For the sunset music festival remounted PTZs as direct overheads to the Stage musicians; this allowed us to take shots as direct overheads, drummer, keyboardist, stage wide from above and seamlessly tilt the camera up to a fantastic audience shot of Sunset Boulevard, including a slow push out into the crowd to show audio faces. We found this to be an online crowd favorite based on the comment section of the live stream.

Recently we worked at a venue that would not allow any cameras in the house other than the two cameras at the funnel house position. We added four PTZs and used V-log to match the other house cameras. All of our PTZ cameras were up on the stage itself and gave us such excellent choices that the Director and the rest of the team agreed that this music production was enhanced by using the PTZ and not hampered in the slightest by not having the availability of additional individually controlled cameras.

This particular project was six cameras all recorded to iso on shotguns, there was no line cut. The exciting element that really became apparent during the Post Production process was how easy the edit became; since there was only one PTZ operator and one Director calling the shots for four cameras, the integration of each camera was flawless. It was almost as if the edit was being created live by switching between which cameras were operated at which moment as opposed to a traditional live switch or having multiple cameras all working independently under one director’s vision.
