Bulletproof Broadcasting: Cellular Bonded with LiveU, Peplink, and Starlink Solutions

Production Equipment RentalsAt Absolute Rentals and our sister company, Absolute Media Labs, we have a clear standard for high-stakes broadcasting: if it’s a multi-camera live stream, we always recommend Bonded Cellular with  a LiveU encoder, Tvu, Peplink and Starlink

In the world of live production, “reliable” in-house internet is often a gamble. We’ve worked on countless high-profile shows where clients were reluctant to invest in cellular bonding because they believed their wired connection was foolproof. However, we’ve seen those “solid” connections fail firsthand. In those moments, the only reason the stream stayed on air was the cellular bonded backup we insisted on bringing.

The Power of the LiveU Ecosystem

We utilize the full spectrum of LiveU technology to ensure your signal is bulletproof, whether you are in a convention center or a remote field.

  1. LU800: The Multi-Cam Powerhouse The LU800 is a game-changer for remote production (REMI). It can be configured as a single high-bitrate 4K channel or as a unit that handles four individual frame-synced feeds over bonded cellular networks. This allows us to bring four cameras from a remote site back to our control room with perfect synchronization, or send a master feed out to multiple global destinations simultaneously.

  2. LU600: The Field Legend The LU600 has been our workhorse for major events.

    • RuPaul’s DragCon: Working with Entertainment Tonight, we used the LU600 to send our high-quality signal back to their headquarters while receiving a return feed for the on-site talent.

    • E3 Conference: At the LA Convention Center, we replaced expensive fiber and satellite trucks by using the LU600 for a Satellite Media Tour (SMT). It saved the client thousands of dollars without sacrificing broadcast quality.

  3. LiveU Solo PRO: Compact 5G Reliability As recently as February 7, 2026, we produced a live stream for Geotab from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Even though we had a Peplink system standing by, the LiveU Solo PRO handled the entire 5G transmission on its own. It is the perfect tool for floor-roaming segments where mobility is as important as signal strength.

  4. New for 2026: The LU900Q We are now integrating the LU900Q, the latest intelligent production unit. It features native LiveU IQ (LIQ) connectivity and 4:2:2 encoding, making it the most resilient field unit for 2026’s demanding 5G environments.

The Ultimate Companion: Starlink & Peplink Integration

Beyond cellular bonding, the Starlink satellite system serves as the perfect companion and redundancy tool when using LiveU or Peplink systems.

  • Seamless WAN Integration: Starlink allows you to utilize the WAN port of your Peplink MAX BR2 Pro 5G router to give you additional shared bandwidth or full, automatic failover capabilities.

  • Complete Hardware Availability: At Absolute Rentals, we don’t just rent out encoders and cameras—we also rent the Peplink BR2 alongside Starlink setups, giving you an entirely self-contained, bulletproof internet and bonding infrastructure anywhere in the field.

Receiving and Distribution: The LU2000 & LU4000

Sending the signal is only half the battle. At our control room, we use LU2000 (HD) and LU4000 (4K) rack-mount decoders.

  • Ingest: These units receive the bonded streams and decode them into SDI, NDI, or SRT formats.

  • Re-Encoding: Once received, we can re-process the video, add graphics, and re-encode it for final distribution to social media, private servers, or television master control.
